World’s Most Expensive Diamond “The Pink Star” Sold for $71.2 Million

The “Pink Star” has become the world’s most expensive cut diamond ever sold at auction fetching $71.2 million at a Sotheby’s sale on Tuesday. A stunning 59.6 carat diamond, the “Pink Star” was bought by  Chow Tai Fook Jewellery edging out two other bidders over the phone. The transaction set a new world record for any diamond or jewel, according to the auction house.
