Today we honor the great Martin Luther King Jr as we observe him on this national holiday day. MLK is honored every year on the third Monday of January each year, which is around King’s birthday, January 15. While many know of him for what he did with both the Civil Rights Movement and the Labor Movement, we are going to highlight the legendary figure from a fashion perspective.

Mr. King as we will refer to him moving forward was one dapper dude and a true definition of a High Fashion Man. He was one of our inspirations when we developed our tagline of “Do Well, Live Well, and Dress Really Well” as that is something that he inspired from others and in the manner in which he lived his life. The dress really well is something that Mr. King did on a regular basis. He had a refined style that was elegant and sophisticated whether he was in power suit meeting with Presidents Johnson and Kennedy or if he was in casual attire while spending with Coretta and their four children.

Below we take a look at some of our favorite looks from his in which we highlight the favorite pieces of each outfit.
