Chicago is known as the Second City but when it comes to fashion, you could make the claim that it is the 5th city. It falls behind New York, Los Angeles, and Miami while you could argue that Dallas lies ahead of it as well. Nonetheless, one of its chosen sons Dwyane Wade has returned home and working to re-write the narrative that is Chicago Fashion. After four years in Miami, Dwyane moved his love of for fashion and his passion for kids to Chicago with him and hosted his annual A Night On The RunWade fashion show.
As the retail landscape continues to grow, Dwyane’s vision is to expose the residents of Chicago to the world of Runway fashion, while being able to give back to the community. A Night on the RunWade began five years ago as a way to provide its supporters with a unique charity experience rather than the standard gala dinner. This year’s version was presented by DSquared2 and was built around the brands“Reflections” fashion show which consisted of DSquared2 2017 fall and winter looks, and an auction was held in support of his foundation to support educational and social programs for at-risk children. an all around production of which featured performances by The Tap Dancing Twins.
However, this was much more than a fashion show as it featured performances by The Tap Dancing Twins Sean and John Scott, as well as Les Twins. Meanwhile our good friends, the Beautiful Coco and Breezy, rocked the night away as the likes of Jimmy Butler, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child fame, and of course, Gabrielle Union danced and mingled with guests. Below we have included some photos which recap the full flow of the event we will surely be in attendance for next year and if you call the Windy City home be there are be Dsquared2
