It has been an interesting monitor the locations chosen by the major fashion houses to present their Resort 2018 Collections. Prada and Chanel selected to return to their respective homes of Milan and Paris to share their presentations. Meanwhile, Dior headed to Calabasas, California. Louis Vuitton took it to the next level and presented at the Miho Museum just outside of Kyoto, Japan.
Due to its location, Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière featured many Japanese references throughout the Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 Collection. Samurai armor, Kurosawa’s colors, kabuki makeup, traditional prints of fishermen, and the obscure 1970s Japanese film series Stray Cats can all be found throughout the assortment. Below we share some of our favorite pieces from the collection and you can see it in full at vogue.
