We finally get to look at the Diane Von Furstenberg‘s spring/summer 2017 collection, which is the first collection since Jonathan Saunders was appointed the brand’s first chief creative officer. The garments were sharp and feminine, and had the essence of the DVF label, yet distinctly had the Scottish designer’s thumbprint all over it. This is the way to break into a collection, understand the brand ethos and deliver it in your own style. This is impressive because we have seen on occasion, new Creative Directors come in, play it safe and fail miserably. See the first DKNY collection from Maxwell Osborne and Dao Yi Chow as an example.
