Balmain Fall 2016 Collection

Posted on

Balmain has truly ascended to new heights in the fashion industry ever since Olivier Rousteing assumed the role as creative director. For the Balmain Fall 2016 collection Rousteing stayed with the design theme that has increased his brands popularity, “The Balmain Army”. Trying to capture the elegance of French soldiers, who fought for their nation centuries ago, Rousteing sent on the runway a real army of charmers, dressed to impress in a sumptuous winter lineup, where rich embroideries, furs, quilted leather and velvet define a bold aesthetic, where military references are mixed with aristocratic opulence. Saying to Vogue “I think I build my Balmain army because when you build the Balmain world, sometimes you need soldiers more than models. Because I think sometimes fashion can be really rude—and try to destroy some designers.”

No one is going to destroy Olivier he is to hot right now as is Balmain. That being said after the H&M Collection and the women’s campaign fronted by Naomi and Cindy it is plain to see that Olivier is capitalizing on his new found success as arguably the top of the industry. Now we look forward to what he will present us next spring and how he will change the industry. However for the Balmain fall 2016 collection, if it aint broke dont fix it.
